The Club, founded in 1955, meets in Sturminster Newton on 3 weekends a year to study

the cantatas of J S Bach, and related Baroque choral and orchestral works.

Timetable: Saturday 14:00 – 14:30 Registration and payment of subscriptions

All times are approximate  14:30 – 19:30 Rehearsal: Choir (with tea break from 16:30 – 17:15)

 Sunday 10:00 – 10:15 Registration and payment of subscriptions

  10:15 – 13:00 Rehearsal: Orchestra & Choir.  Choir joins @ 10:45

  (12:30 Annual General Meeting: October only)

  13:00 – 14:15 Lunch (May - Bring & Share)

  14:15 – 15:45 Rehearsal: Choir and Orchestra

  15:45 – 16:15 Tea

  16:15 Informal performance to which visitors are welcome.

Refreshments: Please bring your own food and drink.  May weekend: Bring & Share lunch.

Subscriptions: Choir:  £25 per year (or £10 per weekend)

Orchestra: £7 per weekend

First time players and Students  come Free

Choral Scores: Please contact the Librarian regarding the availability of music for hire,

or obtain your own copies.  J S Bach: Cantatas, Breitkopf edition.  

The Librarian will obtain these scores for you if you return the Order Form to him in time.  

If Christopher Brown produces his own edition of a work, it will be available

for sale at the weekend,
