OUR ACTIVITIES

With over 200 Bach Cantatas available, we have a rich repertoire of masterworks from which to draw. Bach’s cantatas contain some of the most subtle, complicated and yet beautiful works in existence.  DBCC's programme is sometimes expanded with instrumental pieces by Bach and his contemporaries. We use editions of works arranged by Bach based on scholarly research.

Working with a resident or occasional conductor we meet on Saturdays and Sundays, on a non-residential basis and rehearse exhaustively, leading to a studio performance on the Sunday afternoon.

We have formed supportive relationships with many kindred bodies such as the London Bach Society, and have been able to supply scarce musical resources to other groups, usually on a reciprocal basis.

From time to time, we celebrate centenaries and other high days with a full performance, usually in a church in the county.
